WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
In the eighteen-plus years that I have homeschooled our sons, I have been asked countless times by many friends and acquaintances for advice and input on how we practically handle a variety of issues related to home education and household management. Out of my passion to help other homeschoolers find joy and success in their personal journey, The Balanced Homeschooler mentoring program was born! Since 2010, we have been blessed with "TBH graduate" moms who share this passion to help others succeed in their journey.
So, not only does the program enable our mentors to come alongside homeschooling moms in a more practical and personal way, but it also provides a mechanism to inspire other veteran moms to mentor and support the homeschoolers in their life who are new to home education or may just be entering a new season and desire some much needed input and encouragement.
So, whether you are just thinking about homeschooling, new to homeschooling, or have homeschooled a long time and maybe even have a heart to mentor others one day, join the 100+ moms who have enjoyed this program since 2010 and let’s get started! You will not only benefit yourself and your family, but you may be inspired to mentor other moms in the future!
HOW TO BECOME A PRINCIPAL MENTOR
I realized the importance of "paying it forward" when our oldest son at the young age of twelve shared wtih me his excitement about me mentoring other homeschooling moms. He said, "Mom, I think this is great! I want other families to have what we have!"
The first step in serving as a mentor mom is to join us for my "Mentoring the Mentors" workshop. It is three-hour session that is informative, interactive, and inspirational. It is especially designed for moms in a leadership role within their homeschooling community or moms who simply want to encourage others throughout the process of home education.
Those wishing to become a Principal Mentor Mom utilizing The Balanced Homeschooler program as their facilitation spine will receive additional tools, training, and support necessary to make a successful difference in their homeschooling community.
In addition to personally enjoying a fabulous ministry to fellow homeschooling moms, TBH Principal Mentor moms who are actively mentoring receive these additional benefits.

SUPPORT GROUP LEADER TRAINING
Instead of mentoring, if you are interested in starting or leading a homeschool support group, be sure to ask Carol about the optional two-hour discussion from chapter ten called "Participating In or Running a Support Group" or her one-hour workshop called "Support Groups: Are You Shopping or Shaping?"
