HELP FOR MENTORS AND GROUP LEADERS

1.  Start and end on time.  Even if you have more moms that you know are coming, be mindful of the time constraints that everyone is under and honor the fact that you do have moms who were on time and are ready to get going.  Also make sure that your moms leave on time so that their husbands can count on them being home at the time originally stated.

2.  Encourage balanced participation from each mom so that no one person takes over the discussion of any particular topic.  While not every mom will want to speak up on every topic, be sure that each one is given the opportunity to do so whenever possible.

3.  When a topic comes up that you are unsure of how to handle, ask for input from the group or let them know that you will look into it and get back to them by the next meeting session.  Remember that you should not feel pressured to be a content expert but only that, as a veteran homeschooler, you can facilitate the meetings to keep discussion going.  You are also welcome to contact me to address the issue and I will help clarify a point in the manual or address a new question to the best of my ability.

4.  If you have a mom in your group or one-on-one setting who is not a Christian but would like more information about becoming a Christian, read Know Jesus.
